FIXED RATE FAQ
A PREDICTABLE APPROACH TO COMMERCIAL SNOW REMOVAL
How does this benefit me?
The fixed rate eliminates surprises, streamlines services, and stabilizes your budget. Additionally, you’ll receive a dedicated team for the winter that is familiar with your property and its specific needs. Weekly property inspections and light cleanup services, including the removal of broken branches and other debris, are also included in the fixed rate.
How does this benefit Rubicon?
A fixed rate provides us with a stable income, enabling us to hire managers and other workers ahead of the snow season. It also ensures consistent work hours and predictable schedules for our employees. With better planning in advance, we can deliver the best service to our customers.
There's no catch. Historically, when it comes to winter snow removal services, either the property owner or the snow provider wins, depending on the amount of seasonal snowfall. The fixed rate model derisks the winter for both the property owner and the snow service provider, creating a win-win situation for both parties.
Why hasn’t Rubicon or other companies offered a fixed rate before?
At Rubicon, we have offered this option to many clients in prior years. Due to the success we've witnessed, we are expanding this offer to more clients. While other companies may provide similar services in various forms, none offer the win-win solution available through Rubicon.
What happens if it doesn’t snow very much?
You'll continue to receive all the assurances of a premium snow provider. Most falls occur due to icy conditions. Rest assured that your property is safe for tenants and customers. Additionally, you'll still receive other services such as mapping, staking, weekly inspections, debris pickup, and more.
What happens if it snows a lot?
With Rubicon being the largest privately-owned fleet in the Intermountain region, you can rest assured that services will be provided at your chosen service level—all at the fixed rate.
Will I still get the level of service I signed up for (Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum)?
Yes, the service level you sign up for will be met. Additionally, upgrades or adjustments to your service level mid-season will also be accommodated.
Will I just get buried under deicing product costs?
With the Rubicon Simplified Snow fixed rate, your service price remains constant. You have control over the amount of deicing product used on your property, aligned with the service level you've selected. Therefore, the total cost of the deicing product is within your control. We're always ready to accommodate our clients' needs, whether they require more or less product.
What's included in the fixed rate?
Plowing: Snow removal from parking lots, roads, and sidewalks (if requested).
Weekly Inspections: Regular inspections during the snow season.
Light Cleanup: As-needed cleanup.
Pre-Season Staking and Mapping: Detailed site preparation.
Dedicated Plow Operator: A team familiar with your property.
App Technology: Includes photo documentation.
What's excluded in the fixed rate?
Any deicing products, including salt and ice melt, are not covered by the fixed rate. These products will be billed according to your selected service level.
How does the fixed rate invoicing work?
Billing commences when your service and preparation begin on October 1. This enables us to map and stake your property in readiness for services, ensuring we're prepared regardless of winter conditions. Billing concludes on March 31, the last day of snow service. Any snow services required before or after this period will be billed at an hourly rate, as needed.
Why don't you include the dicing product in the fixed rate?
The property owner has discretion and control over deicing product amounts. The quantity of product applied to your property is determined by your chosen service level. Unlike snowfall, which is triggered at a specific threshold (e.g., Silver-level service triggered at a 2" snow accumulation threshold on your property), this approach allows us to estimate the average number of times your property will be serviced per season accurately.
