What Are Winter 2023/2024 Forecasts?

Lots of people are wondering about what the forecasts look will look like for the west during this 2023/2024 winter. After all, many places in the Western United States had record years for snowfall. Utah is one of the areas that we service. The Deseret News said this about what we are seeing and what we can expect from the 2023/2024 winter:

"The Beehive State is on pace for its fourth-wettest water year on record at the halfway point in the year, according to new preliminary data released by the National Centers for Environmental Information on Monday. Utah has received 10.89 inches from the beginning of the water year on Oct. 1 through the end of March, according to the agency, which compiles all the National Weather Service's valley and mountain sites across the state…

“At 6.85 inches over the first three months, 2023 is also on pace for its third-wettest calendar year on record, as well. Utah only received 7.24 inches of rain in all of 2020, the state’s driest calendar year dating back to 1895.”

Utah doesn’t look like it’s going to be slowing down when it comes to snowfall. And it also looks like Utah will need snow clearing now more than ever.

There are some states that are also predicting a “snowy and cold ride” this upcoming winter. Colorado local news network, 9News reports on the upcoming winter season:

“Colorado could be in for a snowy and cold ride. The Almanac puts Colorado in its "hibernation zone" that'll be both 'glacial' and 'snow-filled.'

“The North Central States are forecast to experience extremely cold temperatures, especially during mid-January, according to the Farmers' Almanac. The Great Lakes areas, Northeast and North Central regions will also have a frigid winter ahead, the Almanac said.”

The trends are looking to bring us heavy snowfall across the Western United States. But the real question is: Are you Ready?
